Just 40 km from Stone Town on the north East Coast, The Shooting Star Lodge is nestled on a headland amidst lush tropical gardens with breathtaking, panoramic views across Kiwengwa Beach and the Indian Ocean. The two suites are set on the crest of the hill apart from the main hotel guest rooms. Each suite is laid out on 3 floors with 2 bedrooms and a private swimming pool, set amidst a tropical garden. They are furnished with stunning traditional Zanzibar furniture and batik linen. From the roof of the Villa panoramic views can be enjoyed from the bathtub and there is a fully netted bed so that the fabulous stary night sky’s can be enjoyed. The eleven Sea View Cottages are light, spacious en-suite rooms built in keeping with traditional Zanzibari styles. The three Lodge Rooms are smaller and more simply furnished. All 16 rooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans and have en-suite bathrooms.
The restaurant has a long-standing reputation for fine food, a cozy, intimate atmosphere and warm friendly service. The Tanzanian chef specializes in seafood, grills and traditional Zanzibari cuisine, as well as a fine selection of vegetarian dishes. A salt water infinity pool located on the cliff some 10 meters above the beach, has spectacular views over the beach and towards the coral reef and onto the Indian Ocean beyond. We can also arrange luxury catamaran sailing, snorkeling and diving trips to the Mnemba atoll and excursions to Nungwi, Kizimkazi, Jozani Forest, Spice Plantations.
